Here’s how ICI can help you and your clients
Often, in low risk environments, a high level sample is adequate to determine the comfort zone that most executives expect. However, when the dollars at stake are significant, or the risk to the organization is high, experience trumps theory any day. Experience takes many forms that will support your success:
-          Hands on “been there – done that”
-          Context of the broader picture of the organization
-          Attitude and interpersonal skills – so important and so often overlooked
-          Competence
-          Worldwide cultural experience
We have performed more types of audits than most small firms. And our theory is to stay involved, not “empty the school bus” for you to train. We think like the entrepreneurs that we are. And we bring that spirit to every engagement.

 Benefits from International Commerce

Maturity

Unlike most auditors, we have deep experience from both sides of the desk.

Typically auditors work in the field for a few years, then migrate to a more normal 8-to-5 job. This results in a failure to acquire the depth required to be effective beyond audit theory. Moreover, many of those who  stay in audit for a career have not been in a management position with responsibility for budgets, operations, P&L, HR and other skills required to successfully lead a business

Professionals from International Commerce have well-earned tenure in business activities from both the perspective of the auditor as well as that of management. We can genuinely empathize with the client while maintaining effectiveness.

 Difficult Assignments

Our experience enables us to tackle the tough assignments with confidence. Difficult clients, difficult contractors, challenging litigation support, complex, special situations, any scenario that is less than desirable, we are up for the challenge because we have very like solved  similar problems before. Consider International Commerce as your auxiliary team for resolving difficult situations that all companies face sooner or later.

Results

There are two schools of thought on the desired result of an audit. One is the idea that the audits have in fact been performed and management can state to the investment community that in fact they were done. In this scenario there is little emphasis on what was identified during the audit, and in some cases, clients don’t necessarily want anything found. Again, the objective is essentially to “check the box” that it was done.

On the other hand, some clients are explicitly looking for findings and results. They suspect there could be an issue -- someone has tipped them off-- the numbers don’t look quite right -- or simply a hunch. They are searching for findings. They want to know where the money is going -- or not.

International Commerce is comfortable and capable of delivering value in either one of these two schools of thought. We are however much more oriented to the latter scenario. We get tangible results that are documented and verifiable.

Reporting

We will customize our reporting to conform to your normal formats, or use our own, whatever best communicates the findings or issues to you and/or your clients. One size does not fit all. The amount of detail can vary. Some clients don’t want any detail if there are no findings, while others want to know exactly what the scope was, and exactly what was thoroughly examined  when.
