Bill has spent half of his career working directly for energy companies such as El Paso, Koch Industries, Williams, and Enron. He started as a SCADA programmer for a major natural gas pipeline, where he also performed the duties of gas controller, measurement technician, and pipeline maintenance technician. This is where Bill laid his foundation of understanding the operational aspects of the energy business. After advancing into various leadership roles, he put his day to day operational experience to work with a large IT consulting firm. He moved up quickly within the organization to become the Vice President of their Gas Utility division.
Bill entered into the Energy Trading industry by taking on the responsibility of IT Vice President of Koch Industries Gas and Power trading organization. He continued consulting in the trading industry after joining Koch Ventures to start an Energy Trading Consulting company. He continues to provide support to Energy Trading IT organizations by helping them identify strategic roadmaps. These roadmaps are pragmatic and are based on Bill’s extensive implementation experience. Bill keeps his operational experience sharp, through continual project experience for major industry clients, ensuring they receive the best value for their IT investments.

Largest privately held company in North America focused on trading, petroleum, natural gas, power, chemicals, weather, fibers and polymers, minerals, fertilizers, forest and consumer products, chemical technology equipment, ranching, securities and finances.Responsible for defining and implementing IT strategy and direction using a Market Based Management approach for Energy Trading group.
- Eagle Global Logistics – VP IT North America & Global Sales/Marketing
Leading $3.5 billion global transportation, supply chain management and information services company.Responsible for IT strategy, direction, and delivery for North American business and Global Sales and Marketing group including global customer solutions.
- Transco Energy – Project Manager
Natural Gas Pipeline company acquired by Williams Energy Performed the duties of project management and technical leader for a Gas Purchasing system.
- Tennessee Gas Pipeline – Project Manager
Publicly traded is one of the five interstate pipelines that make up El Paso Corporation’s Pipeline Group. Performed various roles as gas control dispatcher, programmer, and project management
- Consulting:
- EDS – Account Management for a $30 plus million IT services contract. Provided all IT services to a major Natural Gas Pipeline company. Managed a matrix organization of over 250 IT professionals. Ran the EDS Gas Utilities division. Generated over $20 million in revenue, while support 65 utilities. Managed an organization of 60 IT professionals.
- Delinea – Account Management for a $20 plus million IT services contract. Provided all IT services to a major Energy Trading and Natural Gas Pipeline company. Built Energy Trading Center of Excellence while creating a consultancy of 20 IT consultants. Generated $12 million a year revenue stream.

- Fortune 100 Energy Trading – Acquired and Transitioned Energy Transportation Telemetry infrastructure (SCADA) and applications for a multi-billion dollar Energy Trading company.
- Mid Atlantic Utility – Managed process and controls project inclusive of process design, SOX controls, Roles Based Controls. Managed user acceptance test of a new Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solution.
- Largest Privately Held Energy Trading Company - Implemented Project Management and Change Management capability

- Large Domestic Refiner -Designed and began implementation of a 5 year IT strategy for the Trading Organization. Performed IT Assessment – comparing best in class capabilities with existing capabilities, identifying gaps, recommending changes, and building project portfolio with value propositions.
- Largest Privately Held Energy Company - Responsible for defining and implementing IT strategy and direction using a Market Based Management approach for the largest privately held company in North America. Designed and implemented a five year IT plan in three years, growing from a small trading operation to an elite Energy Trading organization. This project included organizational design, IT processes and governance, all IT Platforms, applications, service level agreements, and decision making frameworks.
- International Crude Oil Trading Company - Performed IT Trade Floor infrastructure and support assessment for a Global Crude Oil trade floor. Presented full assessment with best in class implementation strategy.
